On the Scenic Road to Elafonisi

Petroula’s Bar is a memorable mountain stop on the journey between Kissamos and Elafonisi Beach. Stop for fresh orange juice, homemade Cretan food and panoramic views before continuing towards one of Western Crete’s most famous beaches.

How to Reach Petroula’s Bar

From Elafonisi Beach

Petroula’s Bar is approximately 20–30 minutes by car from Elafonisi Beach, depending on the chosen route and road conditions. Follow the road north through the mountain villages towards Amygdalokefali and Kissamos.

From Kissamos

The journey from Kissamos follows the scenic mountain road towards Elafonisi. Allow approximately one hour, depending on traffic, weather and stops along the route.

From Chania

From Chania, travel west towards Kissamos and continue inland towards Amygdalokefali and Elafonisi. Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the route and traffic.

From Falassarna

From Falassarna, the safest and easiest general route is usually to return towards Platanos or Kissamos and then follow the established inland road towards Elafonisi and Amygdalokefali. Journey time depends heavily on the exact route — use the live directions button below rather than a fixed estimate.
